A Taste of Phoenixville:
January 19, 2012 was the date of our 10th Annual 'A Taste of Phoneixville.' It was a huge success! This years event was held at Franklin Commons and our generous corporate sponsors were Phoenixville Federal Bank and Trust, Party Rental, LTD, Robert Ryan's Columbia Station, and Choice Party Linens and more! Our media sponsor was Phoenixville Dish. With your help we raised over $40,000 for the shelter's work and had over 400 attendees. We can't wait to see you in 2013!

All of the restaurants who attended the Tenth Annual A Taste of Phoenixville were exceptional. As you may know, this year we had a friendly competition where each event attendee was given a ticket to vote for their favorite vendor. It was quite a close competition and only a few vendors broke 20 votes, but the vast majority of restaurants were in the teens. It just goes to show the quality of all of our restaurants and caterers, that at an event with over 400 people, no restaurant received more then 6% of the votes. We thank all our participating restaurants and caterers and look forward to working with them again next year!

The top ten restaurants and caterers (in alphabetical order, not by votes) are:
  • Becca's
  • Dia Doce
  • La Hacienda Michoacana
  • Ludwigs' Gourmet Catering
  • Majolica
  • Marley's
  • Montesano Brothers.
  • Robert Ryan Catering
  • St. Peter's Bakery
  • Tony's Family Restaurant
Hold a Strikes for Shelter fundraising event:
Who doesn't love bowling? It is a fun sport, and now you can you can bowl and help people at the same time! Strikes for Shelter is a fun and easy event that you and your friends can participate in that helps the homeless in the Phoenixville area. When you participate in Strikes for Shelter you are helping the Good Samaritan Shelter provide shelter, food and case management to people who need it the most.

Volunteer:
Community members provide well over 1,000 hours of volunteer service every year to the Good Samaritan Shelter - and we appreciate every minute of it! There are many volunteer service opportunities from cleaning to teaching the residents a life skill... there are also opportunities to serve on a committee or on the Board of Directors!
